The document is signed by James McBey and Jack C. Micklos, Vice Consul of the United States of America. It was approved by the American Legation, Tangier on 6 July 1954,and there was a fee of $2 dollars to process it.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this document.
