About MeInternationally renowned David Shilling is a milliner, sculptor, fashion and interior designer. He made this beige and gold hat with rose decoration in the 1970s.The hat belonged to Aberdeen born, Betty Clunas (1929-2012) who served as the Chair of the Friends of Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums. She had a fondness for design.
This hat and a framed drawing of hats by the same milliner, formed part of the décor in the lounge of a flat in Queen’s Road where Betty Clunas and her husband lived until 2012. She wore it to a dinner party and is thought to have bought it from the Rendezvous Gallery.
