About MeThis globular vase is made of porcelain and is decorated with a pale blue-green celadon crackle glaze.Celadon is type of glaze which has iron oxide added to achieve a palette of pale green and pale blue colours. Crackle glaze is an intentional crazing or cracking of the glaze to create a decorative network of fine lines on the surface. The potter will often combine a special glaze recipe with a low firing temperature to achieve this as the glaze will shrink more than the body leading to tension and cracks.
