About MeThis jug has a salt glaze created by introducing salt (usually common salt) into the kiln fire. This creates the characteristic orange-peel, mottled or pin-holed surface.
Walter Keeler's salt glaze pottery is influenced by early Staffordshire creamware.
This large stoneware blue and white salt-glaze jug has a sharp back-tilted prow that slides into a pointed 'beaky' spout. It sits on an integrated base slightly wider than the body. There is a looping extruded hollow handle.
