About MeThis porcelain vessel is an ideal shape for using as a bud vase. It was initially thrown on a potter's wheel before Carina Ciscato manipulated the form and cut in the long asymmetrical slash from rim to foot. She has also used a rib, held against the clay during the throwing process, to create the prominent horizontal rings. The single blue mark on the cream celadon glaze is a maker's mark indicating that it was made by Carina Ciscato. She is a Brazilian potter from Sao Paulo now based in south London. Her thrown vessels are frequently altered and re-assembled, creating distorted, yet fluid, shapes.
