About MeKing Edward I, II, III fragment of imitation silver penny belonging to Aberdeen's St Nicholas Street hoard. Found in 1984, this hoard comprises 2538 coins, including coins from England, Scotland, Ireland and the continent, as well as 54 imitation coins.

Obverse: Indent of the reverse.
Reverse: Centrally placed long cross with three pellets in each corner and text ringing the outer edge.
Manufacture Method: Hammered
Condition: The coin is in extremely condition and only survives in a tarnished fragment. It is a forgery based on legitimate Edward I, II, or III sterling pennies, stamped once with only an imitation of their reverse sides. The reverse is heavily worn, with still visible central details and partially legible text where it has not been lost. The obverse is the inverted image of the reverse.
