About MeThese brown swede shoes are thought to have been worn by Margaret Hird (nee Dempster) on her wedding day. She married local businessman J. D. Hird at MacDuff Parish Church, in June 1903. Miss Dempster was a dressmaker and clearly kept up-to-date with the latest styles, as her wedding outfit follows exactly the fashions for 1903.The shoes have slightly pointed toes, they are decorated with chenille pompoms on the front and feature short heels. The shoes are fastened with a pearlised ball button on each bar. Both shoes are lined with cream leather.
