About MeThis brown corded silk dress was worn by Elizabeth Emslie at her wedding in St Nicholas Church, Aberdeen, on 27 June 1911.At one time, this simple dress was far more ornate. The skirt was originally worn with a full crinoline and a decorative bodice. Fashions change and, to avoid wasting the luxurious silk, the dress was remodelled in 1911. The plainer top was added to the much-reduced skirt.
