About MeJohn Nash received no formal training but was encouraged by his younger brother Paul to take up painting. The two brothers would often go on sketching tours together and had a joint exhibition in 1914.John shared a love of the English countryside with Paul. In other respects their art is poles apart. Although John simplified his landscapes, his work remained rooted in observation of the natural landscape whilst Paul's subjects rely more heavily on his own poetic interpretation of his surroundings.
