About MeWhile the artist's drawing bears a close resemblance to the five-pound note which was issued for circulation there are interesting differences of detail.

This is a unique item: it is the unknown artist's original drawing on card for the new style of five-pound note introduced by the Banking Company in Aberdeen following its absorption by the Union Bank of Scotland.

Following amalgamation with the Union Bank of Scotland the Banking Company in Aberdeen continued to trade under its own name for a few years.
