About MeGeorge Gordon (1770-1836) sat for Robertson in London. Robertson was very pleased with the miniature writing:

"his picture promises to be very superior to anything I have done".

It was engraved almost immediately, the prints selling at 15 shillings each. One of these stipple engravings is also in the collections of Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums collections.
