About MeThis cream and gold embroidered wedding dress was worn by Elizabeth Carson at her wedding to George Hascott Anderson of Aberdeen. The wedding is thought to have taken place in 1889. The Anderson's lived at 26 Chattan Place, Aberdeen until they emigrated to Pretoria, South Africa in 1914.The two-piece wedding dress.is made up of a bodice and skirt. The close fitting bodice is heavily embroidered with gold silk threads. It has a tall collar and narrow full length sleeves. The front panels are pleated into the collar and at the waist, down to the pointed front. The bodice has pointed tails at the back, which sit over the skirt. The altered ankle length skirt now features a flat front and gathers at the back into a petersham waistband. The front panel of the skirt has gold embroidered threads.
