About MeGlasgow-based artist Jim Lambie has seen a meteoric rise to his career recently, with exhibitions of his work in Edinburgh, at Tate and in Venice, where in 2003 he was one of three Scottish artists representing Scotland at the world's biggest contemporary art fair, the Venice Biennale.Lambie's artworks are in the tradition of the Arte Povera movement of the 1960s, which held that art could and should be made from anything.
This work combines Lambie's two loves; music and colour. A series of album covers featuring portraits of pop stars and classical singers, combine to provide a hilarious montage of bouffaned singers. Lambie gives the work a distinctively Scottish element, by including images of Scottish performers, such as Andy Stewart and Bill Torrance.
Lambie covers all text with tape, thus focussing attention on the faces and hairstyles, and transforming the sleeves into one massed image which is both humorous and beguiling.

More About Me
We can clearly see the heads and shoulders but why "with conditioner"? Perhaps the artist wishes to condition us by removing all the text so that we focus solely on the faces and hairstyles!
