About MeMartin Stevenson studied at Duncan Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. He later moved to Aberdeen where he painted this portrait of Susan, an artist who worked at Peacock Printmakers Workshop during the winter of 1988.

Aberdeen Art Gallery has always held a special interest in collecting artists' portraits and self-portraits. This interest continues the tradition established by Alexander Mcdonald who bequeathed his collection of more than ninety artists portraits and self-portraits to the gallery in 1901.
