About MeNotebook owned by James McBey in which he has jotted down titles of books he felt were of interest, and quotes by others. McBey also includes a series of brief observations, such as having seen the "eerie sands of Forvie", and that parts of Scotland had "dour wind shapen trees."

Also inserted within the notebook is a sheet with an account of a meeting McBey had with Mrs. Argo and her sons and daughters, while he was working at the North of Scotland Bank. In the note he complains about discomfort he was suffering from a new pair of work shoes.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this notebook.
