About MeCorrespondence from James McBey to Marguerite McBey, dated 26 August 1948, and sent from Tangier. James received Marguerite's letter of 15 August. Regarding the Palmer portrait, James had sent a cable to Mrs. Palmer to find out when the portrait will be delivered, and no reply had been received. He states he cannot make any plans regarding the portrait until he knows when it needs to be received.

In another section, he refers to the Comtesse de Bernonville, apparently Rene Martin's first tenant, as "very straight", and that she wished to stay in Jalobey for a week. He complains about the level of noise from Shait's children, especially in regards to working in the studio, but that he shall not do as Marguerite suggested and tell Shait to not have any more children - as it is not his business.

He also refers to a relationship dispute.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
