About MeCorrespondence from James McBey to Marguerite McBey, dated 22 August 1939. McBey writes that he recently received a photograph of Marguerite and a woman named "Stella", and that she seems happy. He also writes that "Russia and Germany seem to have been concluding a pact on the quiet whilst our statesmen were shilly-shallying", and how they seem to have been "outwitted all the time".

He complains that in London, "it is everyone for himself", but that in Tangier, "one feels amongst friends".

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
