About MeThis white satin strapless two piece wedding dress was created by the famous fashion designer Bill Gibb (1943-1988). It demonstrates the trend for the Romantic that was present throughout the 1980s. While the dress is traditional in form and adorned with lace, metallic thread, sequins and pearls, it retains a modern edge through Gibb's use of a tight fitting bodice and oversized bow at the back. Throughout his career Gibb designed several wedding dresses for celebrities including Lucy Dahl, Yvonne Klein and Lulu. Born near New Pitsligo, in Aberdeenshire, Bill Gibb went to school in nearby Fraserburgh. In 1962, he left Scotland for London and attended Central Saint Martins school of art. After graduating, he was awarded a scholarship to the Royal College of Art, but before completing his degree, he left to start up his fashion business.
