Paul Mealor

St Asaph, Wales, born 1975
About MePaul Mealor is one of the world’s most performed living composers. His uplifting compositions have been praised for being “marked by something outside of himself that is beautifully spatial and evocative of landscape”. Paul arrived at the University of Aberdeen in 2003 to take the post of Professor of Composition. Since then Paul’s music has been commissioned and performed by orchestras and choruses across the world.

In April 2011 Paul was catapulted to international stardom when his choral music Ubi Caritas was performed at the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. He followed with his composition Wherever You Are for The Military Wives Choir and Gareth Malone, to become the first classical composer to hold both the classical and pop chart number 1s at the same time.
