In the letter, McBey explains that he is willing to accept, in settlement of Colnaghi's debt to him, their total holding of etchings. He also mentions that his lawyer Sidney Krauss is asking to send 15 paintings by McBey to America. McBey instructs to list 'some of the portraits which used to be in the dining room and drawing room at 1 H. P. Ave, all portraits of friends except on e of a Moorish Girl'.
