About MeCopy of letter by H.W.J. Paton to Messrs. P. & D. Colnaghi & Co. Ltd., titled ''For the attention of Mr. Mayer'', dated 11th October, 1941.

''You will probably have received by this time Mr. McBey's letter to you of 19th ult., copy of which he sent to me. If you agree to his proposition, I am prepared to take charge of the 566 etchings but please do not send them to me until I write you further, as I may wish to have delivery taken of them in the first instance by Mr. McBey's Solicitor under conditions which he may wish to prescribe.
Please acknowledge receipt of this letter.''

Typed on one side of blue paper, unsigned. This copy was made for Graham Smith.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
