About MeCorrespondence from Marguerite McBey to James McBey, date 20 September 1948. Two sheets. Marguerite writes that she has received James' letter of 12 September, that she was glad to hear of him, and that she hoped he had arrived in England safely. She asks if he has received her photographs. Regarding his post-script, she states that he will always be able to "count on [her] to carry out his wishes".

She says that she could not find an apartment in New York - everything was apparently "exorbitant, new & long lease".

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
