About MeLetter from James McBey to friend and art collector H. H. Kynett, dated 27 March 1955, in response to a previous letter from Kynett. Kynett wished to visit Marguerite and James in London, but McBey states that he cannot set a date yet, because the tenancy of their house there may have been coming to an end.

McBey then mentions that the daughter in law of his best friend in Scotland wanted him to paint her portrait. He also talks about Miss Elizabeth Simpson coming to stay and hoped that she may be able to help negotiate the lease.

At the end of the letter McBey tells Kynett about Marguerite's new "Nash station wagon" and invites Kynett and Starr to drive from Tangier to London through France and Spain with Marguerite.

The letter consists of one sheet typewritten.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
