About MeCorrespondence from James McBey to Marguerite McBey, dated 19 April 1935. McBey writes how only an hour and a half before, he was at the theatre with the Patons, and how he wondered what Marguerite would be doing at that present moment in time. He describes how the play was "depressing, gloomy and stank of Welsh revivalism"), how he wishes Marguerite had joined them, or that he was with her. He wishes Marguerite "many happy returns" for the 30th, but that he will not give her a list of advice, for he feels tired. He says they will celebrate her birthday on the day she returns.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
