About MeLetter from James McBey to friend and art collector H. H. Kynett, dated 15th Novemeber 1955. McBey tells Kynett that he and Marguerite had received word from her brother, Arthur Loeb, that their mother, Hortense Loeb, had died during her journey aboard the Andrea Doria (see ABDAG008310.99). Hortense was carrying a package of around thirty-two of McBey's works on paper, destined for Kynett. Marguerite had been enquiring about the retreval of these by Hortense's executor, Mr. James P. Gillard.

The letter consists of one sheet typewritten.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
