About MeThis porcelain pourer, or handle-less jug, has been wheel-thrown. Before the clay became hard the potter has squashed the sides in two places to create a comfortable hold when grasping the jug to pour from it. It is glazed all over in a pale blue celadon glaze. Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China and spread to other parts of East Asia. Iron oxide is added to create shades of pale green and blue and with the addition of a greater amount of iron oxide, in colours as dark as olive green and black.
