- Bravura
During the 1990s she was instrumental in the revival of salt-glazing, where salt is thrown into the kiln at peak temperature to create a glaze with a texture similar to orange peel.
This pale stoneware large open tilted vessel is glazed all over in blue salt-glaze which varies in colour from a bright blue to a mottled pale grey. The interior is glazed in much darker colours - a combination of navy blue salt-glaze and a brown-black iron glaze.
Titled 'Bravura' this vessel is a move away from Hamlyn's earlier, functional, salt-glazed stoneware.
