About MeThis is one of the earliest examples of wedding dress in the collection. It's thought to have first been worn around 1855 and again in New Pitsligo in the 1880s.The pink and brown muslin two-piece dress with window-pane check comprises a fitted bodice with double flounced sleeves, peplum and full tiered skirt. Sleeves began to get fuller like this from 1855 onwards. Skirts reached their peak circumference in the 1850s and 1860s thanks to the crinoline.
This dress was worn with a matching silk and velvet wedding bonnet.
