About MeThis cream silk wedding dress was worn by Mary Muirhead (nee Johnston) on her wedding day at Balerno, near Edinburgh. She grew up in the smiddy at Hatton of Fintray, a village on the River Don in Aberdeenshire.

The full length fitted dress has a square yoke with a cross-over bodice, created by panels of cream satin and lace. Sleeves of cream silk trimmed with lace and satin reach the elbow, and there is pin tucked net from the elbow to wrist. The skirt is A-line with a band of satin above the ankle.
