About MeThe Glasgow based artist Joan Eardley discovered the Kincardineshire coastline in 1950. She found a studio in the fishing village of Catterline, south of Stonehaven. The cliff-tops, the shoreline and the ever-changing character of the sea became the new focus of her work. This bird's eye view captures the spirit of the place. She has applied the oil paint expressively and with great energy, which conveys the movement of the stormy sea.
More About Me
The artist manages to capture the chill and motion of the sea on a bleak winter’s day. Brrrr!
