About MeThis is a sheet of 4 unissued one-pound notes which have never been separated into individual notes. They were printed and engraved by W H Lizars in Edinburgh.

Caledonian notes were the only banknotes to use Scottish Gaelic in their inscriptions.

Founded in Inverness in 1838 the Caledonian Banking Company had a chequered history of almost 70 years until absorption by the Bank of Scotland in 1907.
