About MeThis full-length gold lurex dress began life as a winter wedding dress bought from Nicoll of Aberdeen, and had full length sleeves, a bow at the back, and a train falling from the shoulders. This was a style typical of many wedding dresses of the 1950s. It was worn with a short plain veil which flowed from a pearlised Juliet cap. The two bridesmaids wore three-quarter length red satin dresses. The wedding took place in Dun Parish Church, Montrose, on the 4th of February 1959.In the 1970s, the dress was altered by the bride, and she wore it to her parents Golden Wedding celebrations. The train, bow and sleeves were taken off, with the orange net sleeves added in.
