About MeThis linen cross stitch sampler is worked in wool thread.
The upper section comprises upper and lower case alphabets and numerals followed by a religious verse:
for god and he alone is good
his mercy is for ever sure
his truth hath always firmly stood
and shall from age to age endure
The lower section is decorated with a house with blue tiles, peacocks, topiary trees, birds, hearts, a basket of flowers and a strawberry.
The year 1864 is sewn above the house.
