About MeThis sampler was sewn by Nellie Valentine aged 11 years.

Bright Berlin wool colours have been used to embroider a robin, peacock, strawberries, flowers and bushes. The colours of the thread on the reverse of the sampler are even brighter because they have been less exposed to the light.

This sampler is out of balance because the upper section is very congested but the lower section is a bit bare.
