Rather like its communion tokens, Oldmeldrum Church is a fairly large, functional, 19th-century building. It stands on a hillside to the east of Oldmeldrum village close to the local golf course. The church was originally situated further north, at Bethelnie, but was relocated to Oldmeldrum in 1694.
Today the parish bears the name of Meldrum and Bourtie, having absorbed the formerly separate Bourtie parish The latter's compact little church at Kirkton of Bourtie is picturesquely situated in a small valley a short distance to the south west of Oldmeldrum. It is still in use.
Possibly 18th Century
