About MeThis dress was bought in 1981 at the final closing down sale of the popular clothing shop, Watt & Grant. Purchased for £15 the dress was bought to wear if the offer of marriage was made, but the day did not come, and the dress was never worn. This astonishing dress, which was contemporary in the 1970s, is an example of the full-length nostalgically romantic and flamboyant fashions of that decade. The viscose dress has a ruffled neckline and concertina pleated sleeves with exaggerated cuffs. It would have been worn with a pink hat, which is also held in the collections.
