About MeExcavations at the site of the Carmelite friary in Aberdeen took place in 1980-1 and 1994. Much of the west end of the friary church and the west range of the cloister were excavated. Materials used in the construction of these buildings were found.
A number of stone roof slates were excavated at this site, indicating that the church had a slated roof at one time. The size of the slate was graded over the surface of the roof. This slate is from Angus, south of Aberdeen.
