About MeMoney banks made of earthenware were popular in the 19th century especially in this shape. They were often made of Agateware or like this one in Dabware, with dabs of cream, brown, and blue under a clear glaze. In Scotland they were commonly referred to as 'Pirley' or 'Pinner Pigs.
