About MeCorrespondence from James McBey to Marguerite McBey, undated. Envelope consists of three sheets of paper. The text is partially legible, given it is handwritten in pencil.

He writes that he is writing in pencil because of his pen irritatingly "clogging all the time". He notes that he went to Newburgh the day before, and asks Marguerite to find out what Colnaghi's have of his on sale, regarding what an acquaintance - Miss Zahn - might see there. He asks for a full list of the titles of the drawings they send. He asks Marguerite to "ignore the list in the black book. It will only complicate matters".

He also writes that he is "starting for Edinburgh tomorrow".

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
