About MeIrene Mary Browne studied drawing and modelling at Chelsea Polytechnic in London from 1906-1911. She specialised in plaster and bronze figures and portraits. In 1919 she studied pottery at Putney School of Art and made mainly female subjects. This figure of a Cingalese potter is slip cast earthenware and several copies were made. Irene Browne continued to work until around 1943.
