About MePorcelain cylindrical pot with recessed shallow foot and recessed base. It is glazed all over in a deep red sang de boeuf glaze over a celadon crackle glaze. There is a broad manganese band around the exterior rim spilling over the rim and down the inside of the pot. This band presents as dark black-brown with a dark mottled copper green. Eddie Curtis has run his pottery, with his wife Margaret, in County Durham since 1979. This piece comes from the period when he was pursuing a love of copper red glazes.William Marshall
