About MeCarte de visite of a man standing holding an open book, there is a table with books on it to the left and to the right there is a hanging curtain. He has side burns and is wearing a white shirt with a large white bow tied at the collar and a long robe which suggests he may be an academic. A pocketwatch chain be seen inside his waistcoat, a handkerchief can also be seen above his arm and his shoes are highly polished. Photographer's full print details can be seen on reverse side. c.1860s
