About MeJane Hamlyn is one of Britain's leading salt glaze potters.
During the 1990s she was instrumental in the revival of salt-glazing, where salt is thrown into the kiln at peak temperature to create a glaze with a texture similar to orange peel.
She always chooses a blue core colour for her glaze - ranging from a deep strong shade to a paler almost grey opaque blended with mossy green slip. A roulette has been used to impress the ribbed texturing on the handle and cover of this tilted teapot before firing in the kiln.
