About MeThis stoneware faceted jug with pear-shaped body is possibly a sake jug.
It was thrown on the wheel and the sides manipulated and cut in rhythmic upward swirls whilst the clay was wet. The jug was brushed with tan, brown and pale yellow-green glazes before firing in a gas kiln with a soda vapour glaze, creating a typical 'orange peel' texture and warm greyish body colour. This soda vapour glazing process is characteristic of Ruthanne Tudball's work.
