About MePorcelain mizusashi of barrel-shaped form with a recessed rim which holds a flat, circular cover.
Both the jar and cover are glazed with a deep red sang de boeuf glaze over a celadon crackle glaze. There is also a band of manganese, which appears as black-brown and green, around the top of the jar and running over the rim.
Eddie Curtis has run his pottery, with his wife Margaret, in County Durham since 1979. This piece comes from the period when he was pursuing a love of copper red glazes.
