About MeArtist William Littlejohn was Head of Drawing and Painting at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen from 1970. His early work was strongly influenced by Ben Nicholson. In this still-life painting, the objects seem to be grouped together in front of a window. A crescent moon floats into the picture. Its shape is echoed by the wedges of orange on the right. The household objects, the jugs and vases, are reduced to very simple, elemental shapes.
