About MeThis wedding dress was worn by Mrs Mary Watt (nee Robbie) who lived in Kintore, and who was born in 1868. She married in 1896, when she was 28 years old. Her husband, Thomas Watt, was born in 1857 and was a general merchant and treasurer of Kintore council.

The bride bought her dress at the popular Esslemont & Macintosh department store. At the time, the shop was located on Broad Street. The store moved from its Broad Street location to Union Street in the 1920s.

Features of the blue corded silk wedding dress include a tight fitting bodice with gathered neckline and cream satin yoke with stand-up collar. The full sleeves gather into deep tight cuffs with turn back cream satin and lace trim. There's a band of gold metallic thread, purple sequin and bead flowers around the waist.
