About MeThese silk stockings were worn by Mrs Jessie Merchant (nee Clark), at her wedding in 1912. Fine knitted silk was often used for stockings early in the 20th century, for those who could afford them. Mrs Merchant grew up in Deeside and later moved to Rhynie.
