About MeCarte de visite of a man standing next to an ornate writing desk with some books. Both legs are crossed; his left hand is positioned on the desk while his right is resting on his hip. He is wearing a matching suit with a white shirt and dark necktie. There is no wedding ring visible which indicates that he is unmarried. His hair is in saratoga style and he has a moustache. There is a chair to the right of him and the edge of a hanging curtain. On the reverse the photographer's details appear in full.
