About MeCarte de visite of a man photographed standing next to a side table upon which his right hand is resting. In his left hand he is holding a book. His coat is long and dark and he is wearing a full matching suit with a white collar shirt and necktie. He has side burns and there is a plush wooden chair to his left. A hanging curtain can be seen just behind the table. On the reverse the photographer's details appear in full.
